There are about 3,500 hectares of Brunello vineyards around Montalcino and more than 200 producers. Meeting them all and tasting their wines each year would be nearly impossible—yet one event brings you very close. Benvenuto Brunello, the official debut of a new vintage, gathers the heart of Montalcino’s winemaking world. Recent editions have featured around 120–140 producers, offering Rosso, Brunello and Riserva wines to sample. During Benvenuto week, the entire town comes alive with tastings, masterclasses, ceremonies, exhibitions, and dinners. For a few days, wine lovers are invited to join the professional sommeliers and experience Brunello at its source.
