10 adults and 8 children all fit comfortably with room to spare. Large lawn with a view in front and pool with a view in back very much enjoyed by all. Both inside and outside tables accommodated the whole group. Requested high chairs were a big help. Also for babies were two playpen options. We did bring our own cribs because we did not know that in Europe a crib is called a cot and those were provided. Grocery stores were just 5 and 10 min away in small towns of which there were a few. Sienna was an easy day trip. Kitchen had all the utensils and pots that we needed as well as a collection of spices and some staples. Very comfortable gathering spaces. Caretaker Andrea was friendly and efficient.

Very hard to leave
We stayed at Montelandi as a celebration with my immediate family for my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. The group ages ranged from 8 - 74 years old and this villa was truly outstanding in every way. From Andrea, to the views, the pool, the grounds- all of it! By the end of the trip we found it very difficult to leave. The kids had so much fun just running around the house and trying to figure out how to navigate all the hallways, and then eventually spent a majority of their time in the pool and game room. The adults spent most morning sipping coffee looking out as the fog lifted and the views of the Tuscan hills set in. It was truly magical and the fact that Andrea was there every morning to check in with us was a great source of comfort. I would highly recommend Mariangela for your in-house chef, and anything Andrea recommends to you. The restaurant list that is included in your booking packet is truly helpful when deciding to eat out. We cannot complain about a single thing and can't wait to return.

Montelandi was wonderful!
We are nineteen friends and family members who enjoyed every minute of our week at Montelandi. The caretaker Andrea is a prince of a man who helped us meet every need. In addition, he provided warm conversation and such generosity of spirit. Accommodations were terrific; the views, incomparable. From the villa, we explored numerous villages, cities and hill towns. Overall - a vacanza we will always remember.

Montelandi is a treasure in Tuscany
We visited Montelandi with 18 people from 7-77 and had such a great time! The property has a lot of space and so many things you can do and explore, that the week was (too) quickly over. Highly recommended.

Spectacular - the experience far exceeded what we expected and we expected it to be great.
We started as a group of 20 but due to a number of personal issues, only 14 were able to actually make the trip and we all felt so lucky. The villa was magical. The views from all the windows were amazing; accommodations were perfect; Marieangela cooked spectacular dinners each night....it was truly one of the most memorable and beautiful weeks of all of our lives. Thank you so much!

Great property for a large group
Lovely old Tuscan property with commanding views of the surrounding countryside. We were a group aged from 5 1/2 to 85, and the size of the property and its grounds enabled people to either join in with everyone or to sit and read somewhere quiet. Outside dining table seats about 22 and there's also a large dining table in the kitchen if it rains. Lovely pool, maintained daily by Andrea the house manager who is a great source of help and advice about the surrounding area

outstanding villa with fantastic staff
We were a group of 19, adults and children and had a wonderful 2 week stay. The villa is spectacular, spacious, beautiful views and big grounds. The gardens were well suited to games for the children, there is volleyball, table tennis, boules and lots of good quality outdoor furniture. It is an easy 10 min drive to restaurants and supermarket and lovely other towns close by for short trips. Andrea who managed the villa was delightful and attentive. There were thorough outside cleans every day and twice weekly cleans in the villa/linen change etc. The kitchens were well appointed and when a fan and a blender broke they were replaced within 24 hours. Andrea organised a tour of a local vineyard which was excellent . Make sure you have plenty of insect repellent as there are no fly screens!

Montelandi July 2018
This is our third visit to Montelandi and it remains one of our favorite destinations! It is a beautiful villa and we love the central Tuscan location and its incredible views of the countryside and Montalchino. Since our last visit, we appreciated the two new bedrooms and several en-suite bathrooms - they are welcome additions that add to Montelandi's comfort. Traveling with a group of 19, the villa easily accommodated all of us when we weren't sightseeing - between the pool, the game room, the lawns, and land to explore, there was always something to keep everyone occupied. Andrea takes genuine care of the entire property and provided kind assistance whenever it was needed. We were lucky enough to have Guido and Mariangela cook for us on several evenings and enjoyed delicious, multi-course meals with some of the region's best local ingredients. Among our guests, we were divided about the lack of screens on the windows and the amount of insects that naturally find their way inside. Half of us felt this added to the rustic charm, while the other half thought having screens would make the villa more enjoyable. Given the construction of the villa, I'm not sure if screens can be accommodated, but it is worth considering - at least in the bedrooms. Screens or not, Montelandi holds a special place in our hearts and we feel lucky to be able to visit. We hope to visit again (and hopefully again and again...). Thanks for sharing Montelandi with us.

Tuscan heaven.
Montelandi is just the most magical tuscan retreat. We stayed here for our honeymoon back in 2000 and have returned many times since so suffice to stays Montelandi holds a special place in our hearts. The hill top position commands breathtaking views of the miles and miles of rolling hills in a serene and tranquil setting, perfect for recharging one's batteries. The additional bathrooms and cantina recently added to the villa and welcome additions and were much appreciated and whilst it was only the two of us staying, the villa would be very comfortable for hosting large parties and groups. Claudio, as ever, is the perfect host, nothing is too much trouble. The home is within easy reach of some of the most picturesque tuscan landscape imaginable with pretty villages such as Pienza famed for it's Pecorino, Moltacino and its wine and the historic city of Siena are all within easy reach as well as the hot springs of Bagno Vignoni. Last but not least Buonconvento is a fantastic, hidden gem of a village. Travel writers perennially yearn to find that hidden undiscovered gem of a location unspoilt by tourism and that harks back to a time less frenetic than our day to day lives. We think we have uncovered that special place and solved the mystery. Buonconvento has all you need for a relaxing holiday to unwind good and proper! Welcoming locals, deli's, bakery, geletaria, wine bars, authentic tuscan home cooking as well as modern conveniences such as a supermarket, pharmacy and the train to access cities such as Florence and Rome for when you wish to adventure further afield. We were happy to take in the village atmosphere or just relax in the gardens at Montelandi and watch the sunset over a glass of wine with some local salami and pecorino. Truly a piece of Tuscan Heaven.

The Most Wonderful Week
Staying at Montelandi was indeed a treat for the group of women that I took there from Australia. From the outset, the communication regarding our booking was faultless. We were taken care of during our stay by the delightful Claudio who ensured we had any questions answered and any needs attended to. The villa itself is homely, beautifully decorated and vast with an abundance of kitchenware and linen. The villa had incredible views from all aspects of the house which made our stay here very special. The setting is perfectly serene with views to distant hills and the sounds of soft bells ringing from the passing sheep. It was like living in a postcard for the week and all of us found it to be a very special experience. I hope to return to this special place again in the future. Many thanks for sharing your home and your part of Tuscany with our group.

Beyond Expectations!
A vacation home I will always remember. We traveled with 12 women and used this amazing villa as our home base. We day tripped to Florence, Siena, Piza, Assisi ...within driving distance. The owner was extremly helpful in finding us a wonderful wine tour for a day where they picked us up and dropped us off at the end of the day. We also were able to arrnge for 2 dinners at the villa. Wonderful food and wonderful people! They waited hours for us to arrive on our first day(we did get lost and they came out to find us and guide us in.) Claudio, who was the caretaker was also extremely helpful. He even went food shopping for us so that we would have coffee and breakfast food in the house. He took such good care of us. The villa itself was beyond what I thought when I booked it. Built in the 1500's it had so much charm and character. Plenty of room for 12. We enjoyed our wine on the upper patio and our talks in the cozy livingroom . I will never forget the views from up high in the villa and will recommend to everfyone looking for the ultimate Tuscany experience.

Montelandi, Italy
It has been just over a week since we returned from Montelandi and my family, friends and I loved our stay! Thank you for making your home available to us. As this was our second visit, Montelandi remains as beautiful as my memory served and was the perfect home base for us as we explored Tuscany. We enjoyed the truly stunning views overlooking Montalcino while hearing peaceful morning sheepbells from the sheep grazing in distant fields and while complimenting our evening meals at sunset. Montelandi's pool was a great way to cool down and unwind after each day of exploration and sightseeing. Claudio was a great help to us during our stay and was always interested to know if everything was acceptable. One of our guests had trouble with their luggage arriving and Claudio, along with Mariangela, provided tremendous assistance to them in their efforts to retrieve their bags. Mariangela and Guido cooked some delicious meals for us and we were so grateful for the experience. We also thoroughly enjoyed Ristorante Percenna in nearby Buonconvento and found the food, setting and service to be delicious, breathtaking and welcoming! I hope we will be able to return to Montelandi again in the future.

Remarkable villa in gorgeous area of Tuscany
It was a great treat to stay at Montelandi. Set atop a mountain with gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside, the villa accommodated all 18 of us very well. The rooms are lovely and the two kitchens are well appointed, with dining areas both inside and out that seated all of us (including four visitors one night). The owners provided excellent communications and the caretaker Claudio is a wonderful man, happy to help visitors in any way. We connected with Mariangela to provide food one night and the meal was delicious. The kids enjoyed the pool and the foosball game was a big hit. Suggestions: 1. Consider putting foam bottoms on the upstairs kitchen chairs; the scraping noises were extremely loud in the bedroom below. 2. I don't know how difficult it would be to install screens, but the number of flies was an issue. (Maybe we're just spoiled Americans...) Our visit was fantastic overall. Thank you.

More than I could have dreamed of
Villa Montelandi was the perfect place to bring together friends and family from across the globe to celebrate a milestone birthday. From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice from the cheerful greeting from Claudio the caretaker to the welcome note from the owners we were captivated and then we explored the Villa and grounds and we felt right at home. The Villa is situated on a hill overlooking rolling Tuscan hills with crops being baled and across to Montalcino. There was more than enough room for everyone with a combination of bedrooms, sofas and day beds to accommodate all our guests, two kitchens, a range of living spaces and the perfect outdoor setting which of an evening was lit up by dancing fireflies. Our morning visits from Claudio were a treat and ensured we had 'no problems' throughout our three week stay, with cleaners coming in once a week to change bed linen and keep the place spic and span. The location is perfect for exploring Tuscany and we discovered some wonderful restaurants, cafes and walks in the local area. Buonconvento is 6km away for regular supplies and a morning coffee (or for the energetic a 10km walk on back roads with spectacular views on the way) The owners assisted with all our inquiries prior to arrival in particular helping us find Alessandra, a chef who came in and catered for a couple of birthday dinners as well as patiently running some cooking classes for us which are highly recommended. Villa Montelandi was our home for a very special reunion with friends and family and will hold a very special place in the hearts of all of us who stayed, in fact we all keep dreaming of being back there. Highly recommended to anyone looking for the perfect Tuscan base to bring together family and friends.

An Extraordinary and Wonderful Experience
There were fourteen children, one teenager and four adults in our party. I think I can safely say every one of us had wonderful time, this was a holiday that will live long in the memory of every one of us. The house is vast and at no stage did the large number of excited children become tiring as there was so much space for them. The Tuscan countryside is gorgeous and the house fits into it perfectly, perched high on an escarpment. The wildlife and the ever changing light are magical and weeks after returning our minds keep wandering back to various aspects of the place. We visited Rome, Orvieto and Siena twice as well as the more local towns. The four adults ate out in Montalcino and San Quirico and would especially recommend Boccon Divino. We are all longing to return to this place which now has a special place in our hearts.

Just the perfect place
Spending a week at that villa was a great time for a group of us! Amazing place, great view, everything available, additional towels and everything what we could need. A piano, a fireplace with lots of wood (it was nice on cold evenings), great space outside to enjoy breakfast with the best view... It is just a place of your dreams. Claudio was very very helpful, he really took care of us, checking every day if everything was ok. Comparing to any other villas hat I rented before and after - this was the best 'second home' I've ever had! Thank you!

Tuscan Heaven
What can i say that will adequately sum up this wonderful home? The skies, the landscape, the jasmine scented garden, the tranquility, the pool, the space the home affords, candlelit evenings under the pergola drinking Brunello and enjoying a fiorentina on the bbq. This was our forth stay at Montelandi having first spent our honeymoon here in 2000. We return once more this year for a 3 week stay this time. We cannot recommend the home highly enough. The location to Montelandi and the vinyards, majestic landscape of Val D'orcia with it's rolling hills and accessibility to Siena make Montelandi an ideal base to explore southern Tuscany. Buonconvento is only a short drive and offers you a chance to delve into a tuscan village time seemingly forgot. The trattoria's, the cafe bars, the marketplace and the welcoming locals all make this the perfect base for your tuscan sojourn. Montelandi as a villa be it for two or as the perfect get together for large family gatherings won't disappoint.

We recently spent a sunny week at Montelandi and had the best of times. The house and property fit us perfectly and it felt spacious even for our large group (8 adults and 9 kids). We all found bedrooms to fit our different family needs and quickly felt comfortable in the whole house. The fact that all towels, linen and kitchen equipment were included was greatly appreciated and so were the washing machines. The backyard (or the front of the house depending on how you see it) had plenty of space for games and workouts and we ate every meal outside in the wonderful shaded patio. We spent a great amount of time by the pool, where you could play or relax in comfy sun chairs. The area was fenced and a pad lock kept the kids from going in when no adult was around. Claudio visited us every morning and helped us with any question we might have, ranging from pool cleaning detergents to TV-antennas. He made sure we could relax and trust he could fix everything, on his own or by contacting the owner of the house. My own contact with the owner before and after the trip has been smooth and professional. The location made it easy to go shopping for food and make short excursions in the neighborhood without much planning (eg to Montalcino and Pienza). One night we took the opportunity to have a wonderful meal prepared in the house by a professional chef and it was a delightful experience. If I were to suggest one thing that would improve the Montelandi experience it would be the installment of air conditioning in the top floor bedrooms. We managed well without it but it would make it top notch. I would definitely recommend Montelandi if you are looking for a relaxed stay in beautiful Toscana!
